Discussion
In my hypothesis, I suggested that if egg was submerged in corn syrup it would get smaller. This proved to be true in this
experiment because the egg submerged in corn syrup went flat and soft and was out of shape. The concentration of the water in the egg was higher than the concentration of the corn syrup so the water in the egg moved into the corn syrup.
I also suggested that egg submerged in water would get bigger; this also proves to be true. The mass of the egg increased
after being submerged in the water for 24 hours. The concentration of the water in the beaker is higher than the concentration of the water in the egg so the water in the beaker went into the egg making it to get bigger.
The eggs used in the experiment were of a similar size so that the test will be fair, also the same measure of water and corn
syrup were used. The two beakers were left for the same amount of time.
The experiment was successful. If I repeated the project, I would get a third beaker using a different solution to check what the effect would be.
